Jessie: 5/21/10
· Please pray for favor and that we pass the Interview process: The Interview is in English, where we go in separately and have to convince the interviewer that we are really married and also that we won’t be a burden to the government. Please pray for peace, calm nerves, clear English for Rui and FAVOR!!!!
· Please pray as we leave our Mozambican Family. Please pray for grace for Rui as he leaves his family, his country, his job, even his language for a foreign country/city/ language. And grace for me as I say goodbye to all the precious faces I’ve come to love so much.
· FOR FINANCES. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE PROVISION WE NEED. We still need the money for our plane tickets back to the US, to cover Rui’s medical exam and vaccines, to travel to Maputo and South Africa, for a way to get around in South Africa, whether taxis or a rental car, and for our food and lodging while we’re traveling.
Jessie: 3/08/10
Please join us in prayer as we pray
· For favor for Rui’s visa – that it would be expedited, that the interview would happen soon, and that we would be approved.
· For wisdom to know what to do and where to wait
· For the finances we need – to pay off the last ticket, buy the new tickets (for Rui from Pemba to the US and for me from Pemba to South Africa) and for money to live off of while we wait
· For the ability to live out of a place of peace as things seem to swirl around us
· For grace in the waiting period and grace with transitions
· For the kids, especially Victor, as we have to say goodbye
· Easy and Smooth Transition. Please pray as we’re in the middle of transition; in work, as I have a new boss, in life, as we move into a house together on base and start our married life, and as we’re begin to prepare to move to the States.
· Please continue to pray for Rui’s visa back to the USA!!! We have received at letter that his visa has begun to be processed. We’re waiting for them to contact us about Rui’s interview. Please continue to pray for favor! And please pray for Rui’s English, that he’ll remember all the words and have confidence at the interview.
· For finances. Please continue to pray for finances. I still owe for my plane ticket over here and we’re looking at the money needed to get back to the States when Rui’s visa get approved as well as money to live on here until we go. We got all the money to pay for everything for the wedding which was a huge blessing. Thank you to all who donated and helped!

Jessie 2/9/09:
1. I am in transition again as the Children’s Director has returned after a 5-month absence. Pray that I can settle into my new responsibilities with God’s grace and favor.
2. Pray for continued health and protection – from sickness and other dangers.
Jessie 1/20/09:
1. Please pray for our Toddler house. In the last month we have had a few children in the hospital, one baby was admitted three different times over three weeks including an 8 day stay because they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with him. We now have fevers, diarrhea and vomiting running through the house.
2. Please pray for the health of our littlest ones!
3. Please pray for the Children’s Center. Our kids are getting ready to start a new school year. Some are going to a new school because our Iris school only goes up to 7th grade.
4. Please pray for favor with the new school i.e. not having to pay bribes to take tests or to pass tests, or to retake tests, or pass the school year, as well as a smooth transition.
Thank you.
Jessie 12/19/08:

Please pray for:
· My visa situation- I have to get a new visa in Dec., and it’s been very difficult to get a visa that allows me to stay in the country long enough. It cost over $1,000 to renew a visa.
· Help as I put together over 325 gifts and "Christmas" in the next month before I leave to renew my visa the beginning of Dec.
· Wisdom and grace as I deal with my kids and the aunties who care for them.
Josham (10/26/2008):
Here are some prayer concerns. Please pray:
That I will take time each day to be with Jesus, drawing my strength from Him.
That I will be able to focus on my flying and think ahead of the airplane during my flight times.
That I have divine wisdom and grace to pass my Multi-engine oral exam and flight exam.
Jessie (10/13/2008):
As you can imagine, there is tremendous pressure where Jessie lives. There is open practicing of witchcraft in the culture of the Mozambican people. Add to that the daily pressures of running a children's center, with the feeding and clothing and other needs of over 180 children and you will begin to understand what Jessie faces each and every day. Add to that the uncertainity of the economic situation in Mozambique and the U.S. Also, there are times that without God's supernatural intervention it is not safe from physical dangers.
There is also a constant shifting of staff and responsibities. Even the people who are there long-term go home or travel to other destinations. That means that the others must cover those responsibilities.
Maybe this will help you to know how to pray for Jessie.
Here are some prayer concerns. Please pray:
– That I will take time each day to be with Jesus, drawing my strength from Him.
– That I will be protected spiritually and emotionally and physcially (no sickness).
– That I have divine wisom and grace to love others and do my part to make a difference in the lives of the children and the adults that I relate to.
Josham (10/13/2008):
I am studying for my twin-engine and instrument rating certification.
Praise Report: I got a 99% on the final for the course I audited on the Instrument Rating.
Please pray:
– That I will know my checklists for flying.
– That I have well executed flying times in the air. I had some less than stellar times and I need to see some improvement and encouragement in this area.
– That I continue making friends here. This is an area I am growing in. I need godly connections here, especially since my fellow pilots are not too motivativated to godliness.
